What is Qatra?
Qatra Water Solutions’ manages, operates and expands the strategic wastewater treatment assets in Al Saja’a, Sharjah.
At Qatra, we aim to drive commercial realization of the Sharjah Government’s goal to achieve sustainable reuse of wastewater treatment, as well as resource recovery in the Emirate.
Qatra’s assets allow the support of sustainable industrial development of the Government of Sharjah. Our resources of wastewater reuse are complementary to our neighbour Bee’ah, who manage solid waste resource recovery in the Emirate.
Qatra differentiates its service proposition by providing reliable technical solutions and excellence in customer service.
Why Qatra?
We are responsible for the key assets that ensure a sustainable development of the Emirate.
Sewage management is a matter of public health while water reuse is a solution to the water scarcity/heavy dependency on desalinated water.
Reuse of treated water will support the Government of Sharjah’s core objective to reduce water user’s dependency on unsustainable groundwater abstraction.
By assuring the highest possible product quality and safe working environment that is free from any disturbance; Qatra allows the wider society to see the added benefit of embracing and supporting the development of such assets within the community.
Qatra engages with community members by providing opportunities for educational institutions to visit the facility – students can learn about sustainability and how it translates into practical measures.
Qatra is established as a partnership between Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and BESIX in 2018.
